As dog owners, we can’t be more proud seeing our beloved four-legged sweethearts make friends with other pups. And while some doggo friendships are truly difficult to establish (no matter how hard we try), others are instant.
The minute you spot your pup locking eyes with another dog and starting to wag their tail, you know exactly how magical it would be.
Sophia Rudy, a dog owner from Nashville, Tennessee, recently witnessed her dog Gemma Louise initiate a friendship of her own.
In fact, Gemma’s adorable lengths she’ll go to just to see her friend in the making are so adorable the internet can’t get enough of it!
“Soon Enough The Tunnel Will Be Complete”
Gemma Louise, an American Bully, has captured the hearts of the internet, and for a good reason.
Aside from adorable videos on her TikTok page, @missgemmalou, where the Tennessee owner features Gemma’s daily antics, cuddles, treats, yard time, and plenty of goofy moments, one of the most recent ones soon stole everyone’s hearts.
Why? Sophia’s neighbors got a new puppy named Rocky, and Gemma couldn’t be happier… and more curious!
The video shows Gemma lying by the fence one day, with her nose buried under the slats and paws reaching through the dirt. Apparently, Gemma was trying to dig a hole just to reach her newest friend.
“The video description reads: “Soon enough the tunnel will be complete and we can have playdates all day long.”
On the other side, Rocky didn’t seem to mind at all. In fact, he was in on it the whole time!
The two dogs were determined to close the gap between them. And just when the moment couldn’t get any cuter, Rocky’s little face popped through the shallow hole.
As she finally saw her buddy, Gemma’s tail began to wag with enthusiasm. She sniffed him for a brief moment, nudged him with her nose, and then let out the sweetest whimper, as if saying: “Mom, what are we waiting for, let’s bring Rocky in.”
Before long, the post’s comment section was flooded with heartwarming reactions.
“Well now they’re gonna need a door in the fence,” one commenter wrote.
“It’s been 4 hours, is the doggy door done yet?! I need to see them play,” another added.
“They already have an agreement when and where to meet just a little more time,” the third person joked.
The Moment Is Close
Gemma and Rocky are working hard on their secret passageway, no doubt. But, according to Sophia, a full playdate will have to wait just a little longer.
Rudy explained in the comments that Rocky is still waiting to be neutered before he and Gemma can officially hang out together outside the fence. On the other hand, Gemma is still recovering from her knee surgery, and is slowly regaining her mobility.
In the meantime, apparently nothing can stop two friends from crawling over to the fence and seeing each other every day. I guess it’s true when they say that true friendship always finds a way!
