After speaking with animal control officers at the site, Nygard made her choice: Nova would come home with her.
Her first stop was a veterinary clinic for a thorough examination to ensure Nova’s health and address any immediate concerns.
“I knew that at least if I brought her into the house, she would have food in her belly, and I could physically monitor,” she said.
Finally safe in Nygard’s foster care, Nova began to unwind. She welcomed every gesture of affection, her gratitude evident in every wag and nuzzle.
She quickly bonded with everyone in the household, adapting with remarkable resilience despite her traumatic experience.
While Nova cherished her foster family, Nygard understood that she needed a permanent home. Luckily, several prospective adopters soon stepped forward.
For now, Nova enjoys warmth, toys, comfort, and the love of a family who truly values her. The road to her forever home has begun, surrounded by care and kindness.
