A Disturbing Encounter in the Wild

An unforgettable scene unfolds in footage submitted by safari-goer Donovan Piketh from Kruger National Park: a vulnerable baby elephant is seen sprinting through the forest, with a hyena right on its heels.
Normally, elephant calves are fiercely protected by their mothers and the rest of the herd, but in this sighting, the young elephant appears to be alone. This anomaly raised immediate concern among those at the sighting.
The absence of a guardian left the calf exposed, and the hyena seemed well aware of this.
The Relentless Pursuit
