Carla and Laura, sisters from Detroit, Michigan, were traveling through Texas with their family when they noticed a dog lying just off the side of the road.
His fur was tangled and rough, his body looked thin and worn out, and yet he stayed there quietly in the grass, full of patient stillness, as if he were waiting for someone to finally see him.
