A Couple Startled By Their Dog’s Human-Like Screams Learns The Shocking Reason Behind Them

When it comes to dog surprises, there’s one ultimate rule: you can never say never!

No matter how well you know your dog, they will surely find a way to surprise you one day. And it’s not necessarily a bad thing!

Some owners learn, way down the road, about their canines’ hidden talents, little quirks, or even their sweet obsessions.

However, Rocio and her husband, a couple living in Washington, D.C., learned something completely different – and it left them shocked to the core!

They Thought It Was A One-Time Thing

Rocio, her husband, Vienna the Dachshund, and their newest addition – a Pug named Floki, are the epitome of a perfect family!

Things went smoothly for them until one morning changed everything. Rocio heard loud, human-like screams coming from the living room early in the day. She rushed out of bed, thinking something was wrong, and then came to a shocking realization.

It was Floki!

For some reason, he screamed so loudly that it worried absolutely everyone, even Vienna. Although they couldn’t detect the cause, the family thought it was only a one-time thing.

But then, Floki did it again. And again. And again!

“Before getting Floki, I didn’t know a dog could do THIS. But one day, I saw him screaming at the top of his lungs. I was like, ‘Man, what are you screaming for?’,” Rocio told Cuddle Buddies.

They knew he wasn’t in any sort of pain, nor was he hungry or scared. For a couple of days they tried to calm him down with delicious treats. Sometimes they even attempted to talk him out of screaming gently, but nothing seemed to work.

As a last resort, Rocio and her husband decided to take Floki to the vet. They just couldn’t bear the thought that something might be wrong with him, and they wanted to find out.

At the end of the check up, they finally discovered the reason. And boy, was it a shocker!

Is That Really The Reason?

According to the vet, Floki was undeniably one healthy and happy Pug.

However, his unusual, loud screams had a perfectly good explanation – one that left his family completely shocked.

It turns out that his screams are simply his way of expressing himself – no more, no less!

“We took him to the vet, we did all the check-ups… It turned out Floki is a 100% healthy Pug. He has no heart or breathing problems. His screams are just the way he expresses himself,” his mom says.

Rocio couldn’t believe it, and neither could her husband. All that noise is just the way Floki conveys his emotions? Really!?

From that day forward, his family decided to just let him be.

They didn’t try to stop him or talk him out of it. In fact, they found it HILARIOUS!

Now, Floki is more comfortable than ever to just yell and scream whenever he pleases. And he pleads for attention at every moment!

Whether it’s because his mom is late to serve him dinner or because he sees a bird flying near the window, he lets out a well-known scream at the top of his lungs. After all, he’s a Pug and his family is more aware of this Pug’s trait than ever!

If screams were rewarded, he’d definitely win a gold medal for being the loudest dog in Washington, D.C.!

Still, at the end of the day, his family is thrilled to understand Floki a little better. Now they feel closer than ever and look forward to discovering a lot more of his “hidden secrets” in the future!
