Whenever I notice a dog forming a bond with a mail carrier or delivery driver, it sparks the idea that these dogs might have a whole other routine built into their day.
It can feel like a shared arrangement that brings comfort and familiarity. These brief, repeated interactions are often deeply touching and show how delivery drivers can become a steady presence in a dog’s life.
Each day follows a familiar pattern. A package arrives, greetings are exchanged, a few moments of affection pass, and sometimes a treat completes the visit. Over time, these simple encounters grow into a genuine connection that lifts both spirits.
One Texas UPS driver, Chris Basker, has experienced this firsthand, and his daily friendship with a dog named Max has quickly captured widespread attention online.
Max Joins The Route

When Chris first met Max, the curious pup wandered up to his truck one day and decided to climb inside like he owned the place. Chris had no idea what to expect.
Turns out, Max just wanted some cuddle time. The only problem? He wasn’t ready to leave.
Unsure of what to do, Chris called his family for advice. They suggested he carefully coax the dog out. He followed their advice, and right after that, Max planted a big kiss on his face — the start of a sweet daily ritual.

From then on, Max became a regular part of Chris’s workday.
Not long ago, Chris shared a video of Max hopping into the UPS truck for his usual treat, not realizing it would capture the internet’s heart.
“This is my friend Max and our daily delivery routine,” Chris wrote in the caption.
The comments came flooding in almost immediately.
“You better than me, i would’ve took the dog with me,” one person joked.
“Tell his parents Max is starting a part time job. Duh,” another added.
“You cannot go until you pay the treat toll,” someone else teased.
A Delivery Route Full Of Love

Chris, who already has four dogs at home, clearly loves his work and his furry encounters make it even better. People often ask how he manages to stay focused with so many adorable distractions.
And lately, Max hasn’t been the only one greeting him. Chris recently shared another video featuring Sally, another friendly dog on his route. She just had puppies, and now Chris is enjoying visits from the whole canine family.

“Hey everyone! Meet Sally! She is another one of my daily favorites! She is such a sweet girl and recently had 4 pups that I may or not, get in playtime with them,” Chris wrote.
It’s easy to see how much these dogs brighten his days and how much joy he brings them in return. Few jobs come with such heartwarming perks.
We’re all rooting for you, Chris. Here’s to many more tail wags, treats, and deliveries filled with joy!
