One thing that every owner is terrified of is seeing their beloved dog get lost. In situations like this, it’s hard to predict what will happen.
In the best case scenario, he returns home after a few hours, and in the worst-case, he never makes it back home. And that is a terrifying possibility.
Most owners do what they can to find their dogs, whether it’s putting up flyers, or contacting local communities for information about the dog, but it’s not always enough.
What this woman from California did after losing her dog is just incredible and it shows how much can be done when we work together to make things happen.
She Used A Drone To Find Josie

After the concerned owner lost her dog, she immediately contacted her local animal rescues to see if anyone could help her find her beloved pup.
It was a terrifying experience. Anything could go wrong in situations like this, so the woman needed to act fast in order to find her dog.
Among the rescues she called was Mission Viejo Animal Services Center (MVAS). They had an excellent idea on how to find the dog and it required them to use a drone.

They were going to set it up and fly it over the area to see if the dog was anywhere nearby. One of their FAA-licensed drone operators launched the UAS and went to scan the open space.
It took a few hours of just scanning empty fields and streets, but eventually they were able to find Josie. They have found her by picking up her thermal signature on a remote trail.
Josie Was Finally Reunited With Her Mom

Now that they found her, they needed some way to guide her back to her owner. The owner was told where to move to get as close as possible to the pup.
Then they guided them both gently to each other. Eventually, Josie recognized her mom’s voice and immediately sprinted directly towards her.
The dog and her owner were reunited and it was a heartwarming moment. This rescue showed just how miracles are sometimes possible.

Both of them returned home shortly after, and the California owner never let the dog out of her sight again. If this story can teach us anything, it’s the importance of not despairing.
In case you end up in a situation that is this horrible, the important thing is to stay calm and not panic. Act methodically, do what you can do to find your dog and the search might just be successful.
