Behind every rescue story lies someone with a heart big enough to act, and Suzette Hall is one of those people.

The experienced animal rescuer from Southern California and her team were out on a mission when they noticed something strange far below them in a deep canal.

At first, it looked like nothing more than a patch of white fur. But then it moved. In that moment, they realized the heartbreaking truth: a frightened, stranded pup was trapped at the bottom, struggling to survive.

A Startling Discovery

Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy 29 in Irvine, California, has seen many difficult rescues over the years, but this one left an unforgettable impression.

At the bottom of a steep, slippery canal lay a motionless dog, barely visible against the algae-covered water. No one knew how long he had been there, but it was clear from his condition that time was running out.

“It was a miracle that he was even noticed way down deep in a canal,” Suzette shared on social media.

The poor pup had been surrounded by murky water and algae, trapped with no way to climb the slick walls. The canal’s depth made escape impossible without help.

Suzette and her rescue partners, Yvonne, Becky, and Lilly, immediately began planning how to get him out safely. They set up a ladder, descended carefully into the canal, and placed a humane trap baited with treats.

Two long hours later, their patience paid off.

“We believed and didn’t give up, and 2 hours later he was safe in my trap. A little tiny shivering miracle, I literally can’t stop crying,” Hall wrote.

Once he was finally in their arms, the rescuers wrapped him up and carried him to safety. They named him Jeremiah, a fitting name for a dog who had endured so much and still held on.

The Power Of Hope And Kindness

Back at a local animal hospital, Jeremiah began his journey toward recovery. Despite everything he had been through, his health was better than expected.

He was neutered, received dental care, and got a full medical checkup. What touched everyone the most was the way he looked once he realized he was safe: his face lit up with a heart-melting smile.

“I had the pleasure of transporting him to his new beginnings and look at that smile. He got neutered, dental and everything else he needed. And he felt so much better,” Hall said.

Now, Jeremiah is healing both inside and out. Surrounded by people who care for him deeply, he’s finally learning that life can be safe, kind, and full of love.

Soon, he’ll be ready for the forever family he deserves: one that will ensure he never feels abandoned again.
