Pugs are widely loved for their playful nature and endearing personalities. In many homes, they bring warmth, companionship, and constant affection, forming strong bonds with the people who care for them. Sadly, not every dog receives that same level of love or commitment.
One Pug in California experienced this harsh reality after being abandoned by his owner in a deserted industrial parking lot. With no access to food, water, or shelter, the small dog was left to fend for himself.
Fortunately, nearby workers noticed his distress and chose to step in and help.
Betrayed And Left Behind
The little Pug, later named Bobby, had been left all alone, betrayed by the very person he trusted most.
The area where he was found was isolated, surrounded only by warehouses and businesses. There were no homes or people nearby, leaving Bobby to fend for himself.
“Just a little pug abandoned. No houses around for miles, just businesses. He had been there for a few days, he wouldn’t let the employees get him,” Suzette Hall wrote in a Facebook post.
Despite his fear, the workers couldn’t ignore his suffering. They brought him food and even left an old T-shirt on the ground to give him something soft to sleep on.
“One employee left his shirt for him so he could have a bed, and they would feed him when they could,” Hall added.
Realizing Bobby needed more help than they could provide, the workers reached out to Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy 29, an experienced rescuer based in Irvine, California.
Hall arrived soon after, determined to bring the frightened dog to safety.
A Careful Rescue Brings Him Hope
It didn’t take long for Hall to see that Bobby was too scared to be caught by hand. Instead, she set up a humane trap, filling it with food to gently lure him inside.
At first, Bobby kept his distance. Hall decided to change her approach.
“I realized that he was not going into the front of the trap so I did something I’ve never done before. I tricked him. I shut the front of the trap and I opened up the back and I crawled in a couple times to show him that it was safe,” Hall wrote.
Eventually, hunger overcame his fear. As Bobby ate, Hall quietly closed the trap behind him. To her surprise, he didn’t panic. Instead, he seemed calm, as if he knew he was finally safe.
Hall gently carried him to her car and took him straight to the hospital for a full medical checkup.
Now that Bobby is safe, the next step is finding him a loving foster home where he can heal and experience the affection he has always deserved.
After being left behind with nothing, Bobby’s new life is just beginning.
