Watching a dog struggle out on the streets is gutting, and it feels even worse when everyone just keeps going like it is not happening. For so many strays, getting through the day is a constant battle, where even finding something to eat can feel impossible.

In this situation, a dog was left stuck on a busy highway in Colorado, with nobody stopping to help.

Wirth took Joss into her home until she was ready for adoption. It was clear that Joss had never lived indoors before, and it took some time for her to adjust.

Wirth said, “By the end of the two weeks, she wanted to be everywhere with us, just following us around the house.”

“Whenever I turned around, she was sitting right there, watching me, just happy to stay close and be near her people.”

Just a few weeks later, Joss found her forever home in Colorado.
