Dog With Giant Belly Runs After Her Owner’s Car After Being Cruelly Abandoned On The Road

No animal lover is prepared to see their four-legged friend suffering. Yet, every day, so many dogs are found in the worst of places, fighting for their lives.

Rescuers must possess the most resilient hearts. After witnessing so many heartbreaking abandonments, they still manage to gather strength and help dogs in need.

One such four-legged furball in need was found right in the middle of the street. A woman spotted her after she had been cruelly thrown from a car by her owner and left behind.

The dog, refusing to accept her fate, desperately tried to catch up, breaking the hearts of everyone who witnessed this harrowing scene.

A kind woman was shocked to the bone after witnessing a dog being abandoned in such a cruel way. But, what was even more heartbreaking was the dog’s persistence to reach the owner’s car.

She ran out of despair, trying to catch up, but the car just wouldn’t stop. After she realized that her owner was gone for good, she sat in one place and stared in the direction of his vehicle.

It is safe to say that this furry girl was heartbroken.

On top of all that, she had a giant belly, indicating that she might be pregnant. That’s why after offering her some food, the woman immediately contacted the local rescue group.

However, the dog’s situation was much more complicated than they thought…

When rescuers arrived at the spot, they safely scooped up the dog and took her to their care. Then, came a heartbreak!

Upon her first vet exam, the dog was diagnosed with a series of issues. Her giant belly wasn’t a sign of pregnancy after all. It was swollen due to a progressed case of heartworms and cirrhosis of the liver.

In order to have a fighting chance, the dog needed a complex set of treatments, and she needed them now.

The good news was that this brave girl never lost hope throughout this entire process. Later named Sarah, she ate without problems and moved lightly as if she didn’t have any issues.

The vets drained her fluids and treated her heartworms with medication, which ultimately yielded positive results. After only five treatments of fluid drainage, she looked so much smaller.

Her ribs were visible, showing that she was malnourished in the past, but she felt so much better, and that was the only thing that mattered!

Sarah still has a long way to go.

She’s carefully monitored by her kind rescuers on a daily basis, but the bad days are finally behind her.

She’s now focused on adapting to a new life and building toward full recovery before heading into a new “finding a new home” adventure.

When the time comes, she will definitely make some hoomans really happy, as Sarah only radiates joy, happiness, and good vibes! She’s a good girl who deserves to have a good life!
