Few things are more painful than witnessing the suffering of a dog betrayed by the very people he loved. That was the heartbreaking reality for one pup who wanted nothing more than affection, but was met with cruelty instead.
Wrapped in a T-shirt and cruelly fastened to a fence, the dog had been abandoned by those he believed were his family.
Alone and wounded, his cries echoed through the neighborhood, filled with sorrow and longing for someone kind enough to help.
A Rescuer Races To Save Him

Michael Favor, founder of the New York-based rescue Pitbulls and Addicts was deeply shaken when he received a call about a starving, injured dog tied up and left behind.
He rushed to the scene without hesitation, worried about what he might find.
When he arrived, he spotted the dog curled up beneath a bush, a sight so heartbreaking it stopped him cold.
The pup looked up at Favor with eyes full of pain and desperation, silently pleading for help.
Covered in sores and suffering from severe skin infections, the dog was in urgent need of medical attention.
Favor gently untied him and held him close, naming him Teddy.
As Teddy sniffed Favor’s hands, his expression was one of disbelief, as if he couldn’t believe someone had finally come to save him.
First Steps Toward Healing

Teddy was quickly taken to Bay Street Animal Hospital in Staten Island, where a team of compassionate veterinarians began his treatment.
He was hospitalized right away and started on antibiotics and topical medications to treat the many wounds on his fragile body.
Love Begins To Mend His Spirit

Day by day, Teddy was surrounded by kindness and gentle care from the hospital staff.
Despite all he had endured, Teddy began to realize these humans were different, they wanted to help.
His eyes, once filled with sadness, began to brighten. His tail wagged for the first time, and he started greeting his caregivers with joy each morning.
Captivated by his resilience and sweetness, the medical team gave him their full attention, and Teddy responded with affectionate kisses and trust.
His progress was astonishing.
A Remarkable Recovery

Within just two weeks, the painful ulcers that had covered Teddy’s body were gone. He was stronger, happier, and most importantly learning to trust again.
Soon, Teddy will be ready to move to Pitbulls and Addicts, where his journey to find a permanent, loving home will begin.

Thanks to the compassion of one rescuer and the tireless care of his medical team, Teddy is finally living the life he was meant to have.
We look forward to the day he finds a family that will never leave him behind.
