Anyone who’s owned a dog knows that leaving them alone can lead to a bit of chaos. It’s almost inevitable.
Sometimes dogs act out because they’re anxious, and other times, it’s just their playful curiosity taking over. Even when they understand that their antics might earn them a scolding, many simply can’t resist.
While it can be annoying in the moment, those incidents often end up being more entertaining than upsetting.
That was exactly the case for Alexis Orlopp, a Wisconsin resident who discovered just how much trouble her Dachshund could cause during a very short absence.
Ten Minutes Of Trouble
Alexis had purchased a small set of dog stairs so her pup, Lambo, could safely get onto the couch.
At first, everything went according to plan. Lambo used them confidently, and Alexis felt good about her decision. But the peace didn’t last.
One afternoon, she stepped out for around ten minutes. When she returned, the living room looked different, and not in a good way.
Lambo had torn part of the steps to shreds and sat beside the wreckage with the classic guilty look every dog owner knows.
It didn’t take long for Alexis to figure out who was responsible. She jokingly said her dog had been busy with some “arts and crafts” while she was gone.
Wanting to share the absurd moment, she grabbed her phone and recorded the aftermath, capturing her pup’s handiwork for proof.
The Internet Reacts with Laughter
Alexis later uploaded the short clip to TikTok, not expecting much attention. To her surprise, it quickly spread and gathered plenty of amused comments.
One viewer wrote: “It’s always the trembles when they KNOW they did something wrong.”
Dogs, of course, don’t stop to consider consequences before they act. They simply dive into mischief and face the results later.
Another person added: “Dachshunds will do anything to not use stairs to get up and down from furniture. Including eating the stairs.”
That observation fits Lambo perfectly, as he seems to prefer destruction over practicality.
Someone else chimed in: “He’s like I told you I wasn’t going to use those! They are for little dogs and I’m a big dog.”
Maybe that’s his way of asserting independence. Either way, the video brought plenty of laughter and reminded everyone that pets have an unmatched talent for turning everyday moments into pure comedy.
