Even when you think you understand your dog’s habits, they still find ways to surprise you. When those surprises happen late at night, confusion can quickly turn into chaos.
That is exactly what happened to Katherine Stewart, a college student living in Indiana.
As she was settling in and about to fall asleep, she suddenly heard a strange and unfamiliar noise coming from beside her bed. Curious and slightly alarmed, she looked to see what was causing it.
What she discovered moments later left her completely shocked, and soon laughing harder than she ever expected.
The Unexpected Noise
At first, Katherine was confused and slightly alarmed. The sound was odd, rhythmic, and definitely not something she expected in the quiet of the night.
Then she realized the source: her dog, Cash.
Somehow, Cash had managed to slip into the small gap beside her bed while he was asleep and ended up completely stuck.
Seeing him awkwardly wedged in place with his paws stretched out made Katherine burst into laughter.
Wanting to share the hilarious moment, she quickly grabbed her phone and recorded a short video of her clumsy pup.

“Heard a weird sound in the middle of the night and it just turned out to be my dog stuck in the crack after falling off the bed,” Katherine wrote in the caption.
“The way his arms are splayed,” she added.
She had no idea that Cash’s late-night mishap was about to make him an internet celebrity.
The Internet Couldn’t Stop Laughing
After posting the clip, Katherine was amazed to see it go viral within hours. Cash, her English Cream Retriever, became a social media star overnight.
Just days before, he had been quietly lounging with his Border Collie sibling. Now, thousands of viewers were leaving comments and laughing at his goofy predicament.
“The arms are taking me OUT,” one person joked.
“This happened to me in college once except I was the one in the crack and there was no dog there to help,” another quipped.
Others chimed in with similar stories about their own pets:
