When it’s right, you just know it. And Drew and Christina knew they loved Julius, the shelter German Shepherd mix, the minute they saw him.
After spending some time together on a Sunday, the couple left the Texas rescue filled with so many positive emotions. However, the memory of his sweet and playful demeanor stayed in their minds.
They thought that was the end of it until the rescue launched the “Clear the Shelters” pet adoption campaign, showcasing Julius as well.
That was enough for Drew to rush down to the rescue and wait for the event to open – ensuring he wouldn’t miss a chance to cross ways with his beloved boi again!

Julius had a blast with his recent visitors, but he could have never imagined that they would return – just for him!
Then, on the campaign launch day, Drew decided to take a life-changing step. He arrived at the Austin Pets Alive facility in Texas with his partner, Christina, with one goal and one goal only – to submit the application for Julius on time.

The staff were dazzled by Drew’s gesture. They decided to have this sweet moment on camera, showcasing the couple and Julius crossing paths for the second time.
“Bumi, FKA Julius, is just one of many pets that found loving homes during #ClearTheShelters,” the shelter wrote on their social media.
In the first video, Drew explains that he arrived at the rescue approximately two hours early, wanting to be the first in line to adopt Julius.

“I’m here to see Julius. He’s a two-year-old Shepherd mix and I can’t wait to see him again. I showed up two-ish hours early, give or take. I want him to come home with me,” Drew said for APA.
Both Drew and Christina couldn’t hide their excitement at seeing this big furry boy again. From the moment they saw him and shared a few first cuddles, they were absolutely sure he was “their dog!”
As it turned out, Julius felt exactly the same!

Julius recognized his buddies from a Sunday hangout and immediately rushed to shower them with love.
The three shared minutes of pure joy in front of the cameras, leaving thousands of Instagram viewers in awe!
“He said THAT’S MY BEST FRIEND,” one commenter wrote.
