Oklahoma Deputy Sheriff Was Shocked To See A Dog Locked In A Room After Owners Moved Away

Working as a part of the law enforcement is not an easy job. You will often find yourself in difficult situations that require tough solutions.

It’s a job that often comes with a lot of heartbreak, and that can sometimes come in different forms.

For example, this Oklahoma deputy sheriff was just doing his duty when he came upon a dog in an abandoned house.

The poor pup was locked in a room and left to starve. He didn’t understand what happened, but luckily for him, the kind sheriff was there to help.

A Huge Heartbreak

When Deputy Sheriff, Joe Hager, saw this dog look at him from the room, he was just deeply saddened. Seeing how people treat their pets can be really heartbreaking.

This adorable pooch didn’t deserve something like this. If his owners really didn’t want him, there were other solutions. This was just cruel.

Because the dog was confused, he growled at the deputy and let out a bark. Hager quickly realized that she had no water for days.

Her food was outside the room, so she had no way to survive at all. The deputy would then call for Oklahoma Animal Control, who rushed to his location.

They were able to calm the confused pup and take her to a shelter where she would receive proper help.

Luckily, everything turned out well for the dog. She has a new chance now that she is in a shelter. The deputy sheriff’s office decided to post a video about the entire event in hopes of raising awareness about this issue.

Shocked Reactions

When the video went up on Facebook, many people were deeply heartbroken and angered by what happened to this poor dog.

One person commented: “Find out who was on the lease and go after them. This is terrible and they need to pay for that.

While it seems unlikely that the owners will be held accountable for their actions, I agree that something needs to be done so events like this never happen again.

Another person said: “I hope animal control don’t kill her. She’s had a horrible life it looks like Give her a chance.”

I am very confident that they will take care of her and help her find a new home sometime in the future.

Lastly, someone commented: “I have a little girl that’s afraid like that. When she barks, you think she’s gonna tear your limbs off. She’s afraid of her own shadow, though, and is just the sweetest girl. When I’m sad or having a bad day, she’s the first one by my side to check on me and give me kisses to make it better.

It’s really heartbreaking to see the fear she felt when she was found by the deputy sheriff. I am glad all of that is behind her now.

Even though she has suffered through a lot because of her neglectful owners, I really believe that she is living a better life now because of the amazing people who saved her.
