In far too many cases of abandonment, dogs are left behind by people who never truly valued them.
They are discarded when it is easiest, left frightened and confused, struggling to survive after their trust has been shattered. That is the harsh reality for countless dogs who lose their homes. Yet sometimes, an owner leaves behind a note, offering rescuers a small glimpse into the story.
That was exactly what happened to one little pup, discovered alone with a message left by her owner.
The Message That Revealed Her Past
Before she was abandoned on the streets of Kansas, Jade had just been adopted from a shelter. She was beginning to settle into her new home, and it seemed as though her hardest days were finally behind her.
But everything changed almost instantly. Only three days after her adoption, Jade was back outside again, left on the street by her owner.

She also revealed herself to be gentle and well-mannered, making her a strong candidate for adoption when the right person comes along.
