We all wish there were no people who neglect, abuse, or abandon animals. Unfortunately, that would be an ideal world, and the reality is quite different.
We see that every day through dumped dogs left to fend for themselves on the street in desperate states. However, sometimes even the dogs who have a home and a loving owner suffer because of some heartless human.
This is exactly what we can see best in the video where a woman from Tennessee comforts her upset dog while they are driving in a car. The reason behind his traumatic reaction is truly heartbreaking.

On September 17, 2024, TikTok user, @hairbymariahjewell, posted a video of herself driving a car with her upset dog, Max, on her shoulder as she comforts him.
The footage is truly heartbreaking, and this woman explains in the video what caused this dog to have such a reaction to the car ride. Her words drew attention to the consequences of abandoning dogs as well as to the intensity with which these furry creatures can feel.
“To the person that decided to leave him on the side of the road, scared and alone, he may have just been a dog to you, but this sweet boy deserves to enjoy car rides, but instead he is traumatized and scared,” this woman from Tennessee wrote in the video.

She continued with strong words: “I am getting to mend a sweet spirit that never deserved to be broken, please do not leave them stranded and alone, they depended on you, take them to a [no euthanasia] shelter, let a family choose them.”
She ended the video with the words: “Do not let them go through this pain.”

As you can already guess, this video attracted a lot of attention. Many hearts cried because of this dog’s traumatic experience that continues to haunt him to this day.

“He’s holding on so tight hoping you don’t do the same 😠poor baby. Get him a pup cup next car ride please 🩷” another added.
And, the third quipped: “They are NOT just dogs!!! They are God’s way of making sure we always have a best friend! We don’t deserve dogs!!!”
We can definitely agree with the last comment, but sadly, many people are not aware of that. Yet, videos like this are there to raise awareness about it, and we are sure that it will awaken empathy in certain people and save some dogs from ending up on the side of the road.
It is a bit harsh, but it should be said that the rest of them will hopefully face the law that punishes such acts.
