This Pup Was Abandoned Several Times, But Then She Met Someone Who Changed Everything

Dog abandonment is an issue that is more prevalent than most people think. What’s even worse is just how much it affects them, but we can’t see it.

Most pups don’t want to go from one home to another, changing from one owner to the next one. It can take a tremendous toll on them.

Nevertheless, nothing is simple in this world, so this is an issue that will likely not go away any time soon.

Lola is just the prime example of this. She was a dog who was rehomed many times, but she remained a very sweet girl who just wanted to be with her family. However, her story would change completely when she met someone amazing.

Lola’s Story

After getting rehomed many times, Lola ended up on the streets of Washington with nobody to take care of her. Someone did report her and called a shelter to help her, but she still needed more.

Luckily for her, a woman named Courtney saw her picture and immediately decided to go and meet her at the shelter.

When she got there, she was surprised by her friendliness and positivity. It’s like she knew that Courtney wanted to adopt her.

She told GeoBeats Animals: “She walked into the house like she owned the place. She climbed up on the couch and she has barely left the couch since.

Okay, so now it’s almost certain at this point that Lola will be very happy in her new home in Washington. One of the things she liked doing was just relaxing.

However, when Courtney told her it was feeding time, she would immediately gather the strength to get up and go eat.

One thing she noticed was that Lola seemed to really like her partner more at first. Their relationship would grow and improve, but she always liked him a little more.

Courtney said: “I’m not sure what entirely the story was, but she was spayed, had a microchip and had some training. But she also has some issues like any dog.

Lola Is Finally Happy

Another small problem that happens is that Lola really doesn’t like cars, so her owner has to always hold her leash to make sure she doesn’t start chasing them.

She really loves barking at vehicles. Courtney notes that she is like part Pitbull, part therapist, and also a drama queen.

Her owners noticed that she was getting a little chubby, so they put her on a diet to make sure she returned to a normal weight.

Courtney said: “She does wanna go out on a walk, but then you’re like, you know, half a mile in and she’s like, I’m done. And it’s like you’re trying to pull a boulder with a rope.

One thing that really sticks out for Courtney is that she really likes Pitbulls. She feels that they are often an underappreciated breed.

She worked in veterinary medicine, and Pitbulls were very often her favorite patients. They are just so amazing.

Courtney ends by saying: “She really acts like we should be doing this for her. Like we, what else would we be doing with our lives if we weren’t catering to Lola’s every need. It’s almost like she’s Beyonce, but it’s Lola.

It’s so comforting to know that this sweet dog got her happy ending and can enjoy living with someone who will never abandon her.
