Just when we think we’re onto them, they pull another trick out of their sleeve and spice things up a little, just so we don’t fall into a rut!
However, one chocolate Labrador named Stella, probably took it too far one day.
Her owners noticed that she wasn’t feeling quite well, with zero idea what could be wrong. Eventually, they decided to take her to an animal clinic, only to be shocked by what this furry girl had in store for them!

Stella being unwell was already shocking news for her owners. She hadn’t displayed any signs of illness before, and her suddenly feeling under the weather came unexpectedly.
Her owners didn’t want to delay, and Stella was at Cochrane Animal Clinic awaiting her x-rays within hours.
Nervous about the possible results, her owners could never have imagined what Stella’s X-rays might reveal. And then they were presented with shocking news!

The vet staff had doubts about this Lab’s condition, as it was quite uncommon.
For the first few moments, they questioned their assumptions, finding it hard to believe…
How could this happen? Is this real?

Eventually, their doubts were confirmed! The reason why this silly Lab girl hadn’t been feeling like herself lately was that she had eaten – wait for it – eight pairs of underwear!
“Oh Stella what have you gotten yourself into,” the Clinic wrote in an Instagram post.
That’s right! She didn’t just mistakenly eat one, but eight whole pieces of underwear that made her feel sick.

The good news was that it all ended up with routine surgery, and Stella was in her home in no time.
“Thanks to Dr. Becky, Stella is on the mend and is seriously questioning her taste in undergarments going forward,” they added.

The clinic’s video of Stella’s x-rays soon went viral on Instagram, causing thousands of hilarious reactions!
“I don’t understand how they swallow entire socks and underwear! Meanwhile, you try and give them a pill with treats and they’re able to spit out just the pill,” one commenter wrote.
“Vet bill: $2000, replace the underwear: $150000,” another added.
Dogs Chewing On Underwear Is Not Uncommon
As amusing as Stella’s situation may seem, dogs chewing on underwear can sometimes indicate a serious issue.
According to the American Kennel Club, this sort of behavior typically emerges in a dog’s teething phase. If that’s not the case, the root of it can be found in underlying medical issues, such as stress, anxiety, or even a compulsive disorder.
However, the most common reason dogs chew on underwear (or any type of clothing for that matter) is boredom. Mental stimulation, especially for intelligent dog breeds, is just as important as their physical exercise.
In other words, to prevent your dog from nibbling on your underwear – you should provide plenty of mental exercise.
Hopefully, Stella’s pawrents will keep an eye on their girl, especially when she’s near their closet!
