When Aria Keilbach saw a desperate dog chained to a tree in his owner’s yard, she was shocked.
With sadness reflected in his eyes, the starving pup was sniffing the dry leaves around him, hoping to find morsels of food.
Keilbach, who is a co-founder of a rescue and rehabilitation facility called Boonie Babies, knew that she had to help him.
The good woman reported the case to a dog control who visited the dog’s careless family.
After the owners surrendered their pup, the rescuers took him to a shelter.
The canine, later named Zero, felt relieved to be saved from his neglectful owners. His heart started glimmering with hope that one day he would find true love.

A couple of days later, Keilbach visited the shelter to give treats to the dogs who were placed on a euthanasia list.
She stopped by Zero’s kennel and greeted him. As soon as the doggo heard her voice, he approached her.
Although he was a little bit sad and nervous at first, Zero began wagging his tail.

Keilbach petted him and the pup rested his head in her hands, soaking up all her love.
After the kind-hearted woman took him for a walk, Zero started jumping around.
He looked at his rescuer with love-filled eyes as if he wanted to thank her for saving him.
Aware that Zero could be put down, the giant-hearted woman decided to take him to the rescue.
“… He looked at me with such adoration and hope I couldn’t leave him that day any more than I could leave him starving on a chain,” Keilbach wrote on TikTok.

Zero was happy to leave the shelter with his hero.
As soon as Keilbach brought the pup to the rescue, she prepared him a delicious meal that the pup enjoyed a lot.
The rescuer took Zero to the vet to get him checked.
Apart from being malnourished, the pup was diagnosed with ehrlichiosis and anaplasmosis, infections caused by ticks.

Keilbach takes great care of Zero and gives him a ton of love.
The pup is a cuddle bug and he is smitten with his rescuer. He loves snuggling with her and showering her with kisses.

Zero has a long road to recovery and he makes progress every single day. When he reaches full health, the canine will start looking for his forever home.
